Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ’s
Who is building the new Pines course?
Modern legends of golf course architecture Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw are nearing completion of the new Pines Course, bringing their signature, true-to-the-ground style to the ground on which the Pines Course rests. Their notable designs, to name just a few, include:
- Sheep Ranch, Bandon Dunes, Oregon
- Cabot Cliffs, Cabot Cape Breton, Canada
- Streamsong Red, Streamsong Resort, Florida
- The Plantation Course, Kapalua, Hawaii
Are both courses open for play?
As of Summer 2024, the completely renovated Oaks Course is open to Members and their Guests. The former Pines Course closed completely at the end of the 2022 golf season for work by renowned design team Coore & Crenshaw to begin. For more information on both courses, please contact our membership team at (978) 216-0480.
What has been accomplished since Escalante Golf acquired the club?
Oaks Course Reinvigoration
Tripp Davis completed his reinvigoration of Tom Fazio’s original design, and the course reopened to Member play in the fall of 2021. Tripp Davis and his team restored the course to its former glory of strategic, artful bunkering and vast manicured waste areas. The golf course, which hosted a LIV Golf event in 2022, has been lengthened, tee boxes have been laser leveled and re-grassed, and additional work has been done to improve irrigation, drainage, and cart paths. In total the project took 6 months to complete.
Practice Facility
In addition to the 18 holes on the Oaks Course, the Tripp Davis project included an overall update to the double-ended driving range and short game area. Driving range target greens were restructured, tee decks were re-leveled and re-sodded, short game area bunkers were updated to match those on the Oaks Course, and the innovative Flagd Golf target system was implemented for an enhanced practice experience.
Clubhouse
Immediately upon its acquisition of the club in February 2021, the Escalante Golf team set out to update both the exterior and interior of the Club’s focal structure, a Clubhouse containing the Pro Shop, Locker Rooms, The Fireplace Room (main dining), and Admin offices. Updates include new carpeting and paint throughout, new furniture throughout, new merchandise and fixtures in the Pro Shop, and an updated roof and exterior paint and trim color.
The Lodge
Nearly concurrently with the Clubhouse refresh project, The Lodge – both the main 15 overnight rooms and the central Great Room – received a thorough interior facelift, creating an ideal environment for Members and their Guests to unwind, hang out, and connect beyond the Clubhouse and Locker Room facilities. New carpet, paint, lighting, and furniture were installed. The Great Room is set up as a quiet, relaxing space with the necessary WiFi, seating, and docking stations needed for those hoping to get some work done before or after their round.
Are either of the two courses open to the public?
When the all-new Pines Course opens, all 36 holes of our fully private club, along with all club facilities and amenities, will be available to Members and their Guests. As of Summer 2024, the completely renovated Oaks Course is open to Members and their Guests.
