Top 7 Details that Wow your Wedding Guests

You have been planning your Wedding Day for quite some time, so of course you want to make it extraordinary! Your special day is all about you and yours, making the day as unique as possible so people will never forget that amazing night. Go beyond all the flowers and the cake that stands taller than your guests and focus on what really makes the night enjoyable for all. Take a look at our 7 details that are sure to “WOW” your wedding guests inspired by Katie & Bob from the International Wedding Team.

1. Signature Drinks

One part of all weddings that seems to be a “no-brainer” is the drinks! The majority of people come to a wedding for enjoyment and in the process, often have a few beverages too. Okay, an open bar is great and all, but that’s not going above and beyond. Crush expectations and shake up something for your guests to remember by adding your personality, or perhaps feature your favorite drink as a couple. Add a clever name if you please, this only adds to the experience. Picture this... you enter the reception and you are greeted with a shiny platter full of signature cocktails that bubble & sparkle at all angles. These cocktails or mocktails are a refreshing idea, making your guests feel special. Think the movie Bridesmaids, apparently you can’t go wrong with that “fresshhh” pink lemonade.

2. Welcome Bags For Your Guests

Many of your wedding guests travel quite far distances to attend your big day. Make their arrival more enjoyable by offering them a welcome bag. Here at The International with our on-site Lodge, our friendly front-desk staff is happy to hand these to your guests! Bottles of water, some favorite snacks & candy selections, and a schedule of events are great options. Add a bag tag with a crafty line or hashtag that truly personalizes the big day. Individual welcome notes are also a special addition that make a big difference by creating a genuine connection with each of your guests.

3. Late Night Refuel Station

Not all your guests may be staying at our Lodge for the night or the local hotel. Give them the opportunity to refuel before they head back home. Here, wedding guests love our Late Night Refuel Station featuring scrumptious cookies, assorted mini desserts, or a “candy shop.” Pair this with some freshly brewed coffee and see the baggy-eyed faces turn into perky smiles! Add another special touch by personalizing goodie bags, to-go containers, or the hot beverage sleeves.

4. DIY Photo Booth

Photo booths are a fun way to keep your guests entertained throughout the night. The pictures make for awesome keepsakes for guests to remember the big day. Often the Bride & Groom can get the photo files from the vendor hosting the photo booth and have a laugh at the duck-faces and hilarious use of the props. Stock the photo booth with amusing props matching with theme of the wedding or favorite pieces from the Bride & Groom. Let people have fun with this!

5. Table Games & Icebreaker Activities

As the Bride & Groom, you know exactly how much time it took you to complete that perfect seating plan. (Maybe too much?) Place a witty ice breaker activity on the table for everyone to have some fun while they sit and get to know their new neighbors. Katie, our Assistant Wedding Coordinator, shared her “Guest Libs,” a play on the traditional “Mad Libs.” She said her guest had such a great time filling in the spaces, and she and her husband had an even better time reading the responses (For some strange reason, after a few drinks, the answers get really interesting).

6. “Designated Watcher(s)” For The Kids

Bringing your kids along to the wedding can be fun and extremely cute. At the same time though, this wedding could be the first time in a while you and a significant other have the opportunity for an enjoyable night out. Let’s face it, the last thing parents want are their kids glued to their side all night. Having designated people at the reception to watch the kids can be a huge help! If possible, use a separate room or specific section of the room and create a “Kid’s Zone.” Fill the Kid’s Zone with coloring books, toys, other entertaining activities, and even play some age-appropriate movies. Your guests who are parents will ‘thank you’ big time on this one!

7. Give them a Say!

Make the musical entertainment from your DJ even more engaging by offering your guests the chance to request their favorite song, make individual dedications, or express some special wishes. Often at weddings, there could be guests that have a birthday, an anniversary, or a big milestone in their lives. You could even send a card with your invitations that asks for song requests or dedications. The cards can be handed directly to your DJ on the big day. Give them a say so they can feel even more special while enjoying your big day (And… that rhymed)!
