A 120-year legacy of The International

Steeped in a rich history of providing a first-class golf experience, The International is dedicated to staying true to its heritage, while expanding the world-class, golf-first promise for generations to come.

The International is home to two spectacular courses: The Oaks Course and The Pines Course. Tom Fazio originally designed The Oaks, his first course design in New England. Recently, Tripp Davis completed a masterful renovation to the course that included new bunkers, leveling tee boxes, and opening up view corridors. The Pines is a brand-new course designed by Coore & Crenshaw. The land and heritage of the course harken back to 1953 when the renowned Geoffrey Cornish created his first and arguably most famous full-length course design on the same property.

Runaway Brook Golf Club is Built As a Nine-Hole Public Course

1953

Albert Surprenant buys the club and hires Geoffrey Cornish to design the Pines Course. The new course is christened the Surprenant National Golf and Country Club. Later renamed Runaway Brook to honor the first golf course on the site.
