Tucked beside the tee on the all-new 16th hole of the Pines Course stands a tree unlike any other—a pitch pine with sweeping branches and a twisted peak, reminiscent of a wizard’s hat. During the course’s construction, golf course architect Bill Coore named it “The Wizard Tree.” 

As the new hole took shape, it became clear: This single, deceptively simple tee shot, under the gaze of The Wizard Tree, could define an entire round. Among members of The International, a legend is already taking root.

Revitalized Oaks Course: The Oaks Course has been expertly renovated by renowned architect Tripp Davis and his team who embarked on an ambitious project to restore the course to the brilliantly conceived masterpiece the renowned Tom Fazio conceived for its original design. This upgrade enhances the golfing experience, making it a delight for players of all skill levels.

4. Vision for the Future: We’re excited about what lies ahead, including plans for an expansive new clubhouse and member cottages. Reserved for the use of our Members and their invited Guests, our two championship courses, The Pines and The Oaks, offer a tapestry of contrasting design philosophies, each crafted by legends of golf course architecture. The Pines Course: A Reimagination by Coore and Crenshaw

On the Pines Course, fescue grass whispers beneath your shoes, inviting crisp, running shots along undulating fairways that seamlessly blend into natural rises and hollows. The Pines Course is in the process of becoming even better. Throughout 2024, Coore and Crenshaw will be working to complete their wall-to-wall redesign of The Pines that will take the layout to another level for our Members. This redesign is a complete overhaul and will bring an all-new experience to the course, bringing The Pines into consideration as one of the best golf courses in New England, perhaps even on the eastern seaboard. 

The Oaks Course: A Tom Fazio Design

Tom Fazio’s signature style takes center stage on The Oaks. Bent grass greens demand pinpoint accuracy, while strategic water features and dramatic elevation changes frame picturesque holes, each a test of both power and finesse. While The Oaks remains true to Fazio’s penchant for drama, it avoids excessive gimmickry, instead presenting a fair but demanding test of shot-making prowess. Measuring a full 7,721 yards from the back tees and playing as a par 71, The Oaks offers an exhilarating contrast to its companion course, a private playground for members seeking a challenge like no other.
